I think the First Lady hit it on the head when she pointed out that employees will work harder than ever for a boss that gives them precious flexibility to be with their kids. I know I will. I just worry that with so much anxiety in the workplace right now, flexibility will be a casualty, and kids and parents will suffer.

GREAT GREAT SPEECH !!!! i wish she can also mention raising income limitation to qualify for all the worklife assistant programs. We do have worklife programs at work but we have to make less than 30000 a year to qualify. i’m making 400000 a year Can’t survive with 2 kids!!!paying rent, food, child care, gas, medical (ouch!!!)and more more more. please give me suggestions thanks. katie.md.duong@gmail.com
It’s true. Soon a 401k won’t be enough. A single job hasn’t cut it for the past 4 years and even more so with a single parent.
Cheers,
Nestor

I would like to take my hat off to the First Lady. I think Mrs Obama is a remarkable and very wise person. Her observations and insight brings a wonderful direction to the debate. Personally I believe that the success of a country is dependent in very large part on it’s mothers. Mothers are a most under rated part of society. Support the needs of mothers, enable them to create fullfilling lives for themselves, enable them to teach teaching their children to do the same, support them to develop themselves in every way and the culture, the society, the economy benefits. I personally believe that the empowerment of mothers is the empowerment of the society to which they belong. Happy and fulfilled mothers change the world. Just a thought.
