Sad but true: 70% of working women have health insurance problems
Check out this chart. It shows 70% of American adult women under 65 were uninsured, under-insured, had a problem with a health care bill or did not access health care that they needed.
Men and women have about equal coverage, says the new report by The Commonwealth Fund, but women have greater need. And too often, says the report, problems with medical bills and medical debt force women to make trade offs between health care, savings, credit card, basic necessities, etc.
In other words, many women are choosing between buying milk and bread for their kids or getting a pap smear. Should you buy new shoes for the kids or stop in at the doctor to get that lump on your breast checked out?
That’s a huge shame. A blight on this affluent country!
