Baby’s daily calories? 500 more than a man!
Wow! Baby Agatha Holloway, only 16 months, is on a diet of 3,000 calories a day (500 more calories than the recommended daily intake for men suggested by the National Health Service in England).
We’ve had lots of visitors at MomstoWork worrying about how much food to feed their toddlers and asking about daily calorie requirements. But I have never ever heard anything like this.
The Telegraph.co.uk reports Agatha eats tuna, porridge with clotted cream and custard, roast duck and lamb and it goes on.
Poor Agatha’s mum says: “I hate having to give Agatha chocolate puddings while her friends are having healthy fruit, but it’s what we have to do.”
Agatha was born premature and suffered heart failure. Despite the diet she only weighs 17lbs now. Her diet of three full meals and fatty snacks was recommended by a pediatrician.
So just how much should you feed your toddler? Check out Renee’s related post on toddler serving sizes and calorie requirements.
