New report shows average annual Medical Spending for families

A new report from the Milliman Medical Index looks at the average American medical spending for a family of four. 

One of their major findings:

Healthcare costs, via premium payments and out-of-pocket medical expenses, make up 14% of the average household income of about $50,000.

The report also looks at healthcare spending by geographic region and the increase in employee/employer increase in contributions.
